BROCADE 300 SWITCH SYNCING

Hi team,

I have just configured ISL on my brocade 300 switch, the i also use a fiber cable to inter-connect the switches together. My problem is that i can see all the ALIASES configured on my principal switch on the second switch but i can't see the principal switch pushing it ZONES to the second switch. When i used ISLSHOW and SWITCHSHOW command on the two switches , The result is as snipped in the attachment.

Please team what have i done wrong or what do i have to do to make the two switches sync perfectly?  Swift response from experience member will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Taiwo

Re: BROCADE 300 SWITCH SYNCING

It's clear that your switches didn't merge. They currently stay as two separate fabrics.

Re: BROCADE 300 SWITCH SYNCING

Taiwo,

First, I would suspect zoning mismatch here - active on switch 1 and no zoning off one switch 2. We can start by setting the default zoning to be the same:

"switch 1": defzone --allaccess; cfgsave

and then same for switch 2. The cfgsave is required to save the implicit zoning change in defzone command.

"switch 2": defzone --allacess; cfgsave

Then bounce (disable/enable) the ISL say on switch 2. Both switches are principal switch since they segmented into two fabric, that is normal.

Please also share the output from "portcfgshow 9" run on both switches to be sure to avoid issue with incorrectly configured port / ISLs which might be involved here
