Automating tasks using SSH on san switches

So, I want to automate the gathering of data from my san switches.

Running FOS 7.1.0a

The Brocade documentation seems simple enough

Allow secure upload/download

Generate a key set on my designated linux server

Import the pub key to the san switch

and good to go

However, when I try an ssh to the switch I still get the password request.

sshutil showpubkeys for admin shows that admin has the pub key for my linux host & user

Searching around I most of the things I see online say basically the same thing as the Brocade documentation.

What am I missing ?

thanks!

Try using ssh with -vvv switch, it may tell you some more information, three consecutive v's

i.e

ssh -vvv admin@xx.xx.xx.xx

Re: Automating tasks using SSH on san switches

Ah, thanks case.john,

I had used a different name for the id_rsa file.

In the -vvv results I saw it could not find id_rsa so fell back on password.

As soon as I renamed it, all was good.

I knew it was something dumb like that.

thanks!

Your quite welcome Walter, using -vvv has saved me numerous times
