About Port Translation on brocade 5300

Hello,

We found on our brocade 5300, the port address is not as expected:

Index Port Address Media Speed State Proto

===========================================

0 0 3d3f00 id N8 Online FC E-Port (Trunk port, master is Port 1)

...

15 15 3d3000 id N8 Online FC F-Port 1 N Port + 1 NPIV public

16 16 3d4f00 id N8 No_Light FC

17 17 3d4d00 id N8 Online FC F-Port 10:00:00:00:c9:d0:2c:3f

...

As the rule, the format of port address should be xxyyzz, the "yy" is the port id number, but in our case, the "yy" does not match the acutal port id at all, as above, the address of port 0 is 3d3f00, which 3f(HEX)=63(Dec) not equal to the actual port id 0.

The "portaddress --show 0" output:

Index Port Area Mode User_bound

===============================

0 0 0x3f00 8 bit -

What caused this ?

Appreciated for any input.

Best Regards,

Simon

Re: About Port Translation on brocade 5300

Hi Simon, that's probably because someone manually assigned this 8bit address to this port using portaddress command.

hI Alexey,

Confirmed nobody changed it.

Is it relate to defect DEFECT000290539?

Thanks.

Simon
