how to test the connection between host and storage

There is a fabric have two switches, one is DCX, another is 6520. A host connect the DCX, a storage connect the 6520. Now is there any way to test the connection between the host and storage? I already config a zone for the two WWNs and enable the cfg. My purpose is to verify there is no problem on the switch or the network. Thanks.

Hello,

at start you may try fcping, you will see if both wwns are reachable and zoned together

fcping <source wwn> <destination wwn>

Hi,

Thank you for your suggestion. But this command can only indicate the switch to host or storage are reachable, not between host and storage, right?

Hello,

it will verify connection from switch to destinaton and from switch to source.

Then you have information if the device is zoned together.

If you would like to have more details, check on front end ports if the host wwn is logged in. If yes, connection is working.
