I have 2 SAN fabrics in my environment brocade 5480 model switch ( switchType: 72.3) running Firmware v6.3.1c which is inactive frimware version now.
We have planned to upgrade FOS version to v7.2.1A which is latest as per HP/brocade. First time I am doing this.
Can any one help me the procedure & number of stages (which level to which level) to be followed for switch FOS upgrade & correct link to download the firmware versions of switch.
Can we directly jump to major versions like 6.3.1c --> 6.4.3f --> 7.0.0D --> 7.0.2E --> 7.1.0B --> 7.1.1 --> 7.1.1C --> 7.1.2--> 7.2.1
Here listing the next available Firmware versions; Since the current FOS version (6.3.1C) is unavailable, worried about the backout plan or downgrading the FOS version if scheduled task fails.
Please do the needful, We planned to upgrade by this Sunday / Monday Night.

There is no need for that many steps. You can also do the following: 6.3.1c --> 6.4.3f --> 7.0.2E --> 7.1.2--> 7.2.1.
If you don't have FOS 6.3 and need to download, leave it it 6.4.
