Just purchased a brand new SAN with new 2 new Brocade 300 (8gb) switches.
Now we are investigating the migration from the old SAN to the new SAN.
The old SAN enviroment has a SAN and 2 Brocade 300(8gb) and some servers connected to this.
Can we connect the old Brocade300 with the new Brocade 300 and map the new SAN to the old servers through the 4 FC-switches.
Then plan is to do storage migration or copying files to the new storage and then remove the old SAN and then remove 1 one old switch at the time and use the old Brocade 300 for test enviroment.
The distance is about 2 m =)
Old Brocade firmware and license:
Does this work? what do i need (sfp type? single-mode LC-LC i guess)
I can´t find any good white papers about this.

The easiest way is too ISL an old and new switch and let them merge, this copies the zoning DB over to the new switch.
From that point on you just connect storage and host to your liking and zone them accordingly.
Licensewhise your OK and for the distance normal SFP's and cabling will do, but be sure to check if you want to run on 8Gb.
But before going ahead with this I would (in short);
-prefer to have the same FOS level on all switches
-check the fabric parameters and adjust them on your new switches
-check the defzone
-check if there's a zoning DB on the new switches en deleted that if so
Then ISL the switches and (if all is well) they will merge into on fabric.
If not and you end up with an segmented fabric, the log message will tell you the reason why that happend.
In both causes the IO in the fabric under maintanance could stop for a moment.
Don't worry about your hosts as traffic in the other fabric will continue.
