Long distance fiber channel connectivity for metro SAN - SYNC writes - WDM

[ Edited ]

Is WDM a requirement for long distance fiber channel connectivity? We are planning to implement a stretched SAN metro SAN cluster between two sites across 6 mile radius. Can we just use point to point dar fiber connectivity for EISL tunnel. How can we optimize write acceleration?

Hello,

With long wave/single mode fiber and LWLSFPs you may not need to have xWDM between the sites with a distance of 6 miles maximum.

Do you know if fibers between sites will be single mode fibers?
