Logical switch change Domain ID - Switch disable

[ Edited ]

Good day,

I have simple question regarding changing Domain ID on logical switch, virtual fabric.

On switch I have 3 VirtualFabrics and need to change ID on one of them.. Command says "Please disable the switch priror to making changes".

Will disabling swich on one of VF anyhow effect data traffic on rest of two active VF?

Thank you.

Re: Logical switch change Domain ID - Switch disable

Hello,

based on Fabric OS Command Reference v7.3.0 , should be not disruptive for other LS.

You have to use setcontext, switch to LS first then execute command switchdisable and configure.

When this command is executed on a logical switch, only the ports allocated to the logical are disabled.
To disable the entire chassis, use the chassisDisable command

Re: Logical switch change Domain ID - Switch disable

@DrX

from command line, change to desidered LS with the command

"setcontext LS_ID"

now you can set this LS as disable.

to make sure you are in correct LS, you can check with the command "switchshow"

ONLY the Port in this LS are disruptive affected.
