i am hoping someone could help with the following:
We have the need to do synchronous replication of a SAP/ORACLE database records between 2 sites which are approximately 30km apart.
We have 2 pairs direct dark fibre link between the 2 data centres(no MUX/DEMUX inbetween).
extended fabric trial license activated and 2 x 4Gbps 30km ELWL SFP installed. (so currently one pair is used)
same port group used on both switches at each end and after terminating the dark fibre at both data centres i connected the B80 switches using LC UPC cable from the fibre patch panels to the switches.
executed portcfglongdistance 4 LS 1 30 but now a switchshow indicates "no_light"
we now need to get to the point where the two sites will see each other and test if the speed across the link is sufficient to do the replication over fibre.
anything else im missing out?

Did you every saw the port working before you did the portcfglongdistance?
1) If not, check if port are (persistent) enabled.
2) If yes, check if there's actually light going thru the fibers with a camara (on you're phone) you should see the infrared.
>>>Whatever you do don't look directly into the fiber as the light intensity could damage your eyes
3) If yes, check if the wiring is perhaps crossed ie TX against TX and RX against RX.
