Re: FC8-48 trunk port groups

Thanks a lot guys for the detailed diagrams, but how do I find all this information myself? Are there any documents that I should be on a lookout for this kind of detailed architectural diagrams and ASIC layout etc.?

@ Everybody,

Can one of you, pls. upload a portbuffershow output on a FC16-48 blade? Would not that show us the ASIC port groups?

Hi Svelica,

the source of my information comes from the CFA200 ILT Classroom.

If you participate on a Brocade Certified Administrator (BCFA) 16Gbps Training you will get all those informations.

Re: FC8-48 trunk port groups

I found the picture below which depicts the FC16-48 port blade. As previously mentioned, the ASIC layout on FC16-48 blade is same as FC8-48. Front end ports 0-7 and 24-39 are terminated on the first Condor3 ASIC and front end ports 8-23 & 40-47 are terminated on the second Condor3 ASIC.  The picture below reinforces that.

Re: FC8-48 trunk port groups

If these are the port trunk groups, ( 8-23 and 40-47, 0-7 and 24-39 ) could somebody please explain to me what the difference is between these groups and the groups that are displayed when issuing the "porttrunkarea --show all" command. Is the output/layout of this command only for F-port trunking, or also for E-port trunking??

Re: FC8-48 trunk port groups

these port aren't the Trunk Port, these are the Port Group associated to the Blade ASIC's.

porttrunkarea is the area betwen the octet, see example below.

Re: FC8-48 trunk port groups

@jagan.m.reddy

I've never worked with 64 Port Blade, - assume is the same - but you can try to launch the command

porttrunkarea --show all

and post the output here.
