Brocade Trunk

I have 2 300 brocade switches with merged fabric using an ISL connection. I would like to configure the switches to have a trunk port (total of 2 ports) from an ESXi host to the 2 brocade switches. I would also want to configure 2 trunk ports to the storage as well from both brocade switches. I would like to know if the Brocade  can support this and what license do I need. We don't have the trunking license but I can purchase it if needed. Your advise will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Brocade Trunk

FabOS command reference manual suggests that "Masterless F_Port trunking requires an ISL Trunking license".

You may want to search the documentation for the "portTrunkArea" and "portCfgTrunkPort" commands.

Oh yea and for your specific case, from the notes on the "portTrunkArea" command:

"This command is supported only on Brocade 48000 and Brocade DCX enterprise-class platforms
running Fabric OS v6.1 or later."

Hope this helps.
