Brocade 5300 vs Qlogic 5800

We currently have two 48Ks we are considering retiring for some Brocade 5300's. We have a vendor though pushing the Qlogic 5800s to management. I want to stay with Brocade, does anyone have any experience with the Qlogic's? Are there any whitepapers that compare these 2? They same fairly equivalent, but I am unsure of Qlogic reliability---hence I really need to convince management to stay a Brocade shop.

Thanks for any insight.

Re: Brocade 5300 vs Qlogic 5800

QLogic 5800 are considered as Low Cost / Entry Level Switch.

Brocade ( and Cisco ) are considered as Enterprise Class Swicthes.

Re: Brocade 5300 vs Qlogic 5800

A tip is mabe the migration where want to connect the switches (48K and 5xxx) together. If you stay with Brocade you will get a supported configuration and less pain.

I assume that your Brocade representive can provide you the required information.
