no route-only

Hi,

I am trying to understand a config file in which I can ready the command "no route-only". The configuration corresponds to a MLX router. This router is right now connecting two different subnets. One of them is using a VLAN although the other one is not using any VLAN. Why should I need switching capabilties if both subnets are different? Is it not enough with the routing?

Hi Manuel,

     Sorry you have me a bit confussed.  If you are talking VLANs then you need to speak at layer 2 and not layer 3.  This would be y guess as to why the port is configured as a switch port.
