mstp admin-edge-port

Hi ,

Can anyone help me understand this command when it should be used. I have a ICX 6430 Switch which has ports 1 - 12 untagged to vlan 1 and ports 13 - 20 untagged to vlan 4000. I also have MSTP configured.

Now I want to connect port 1 and 2 to our firewalls and port 5 and 6 to or ESXi server.

Should use the below commands

Brocade01(config)#mstp admin-edge-port ethernet 1/1/1 to 1/1/2

Brocade01(config)#mstp admin-edge-port ethernet 1/1/5 to 1/1/6

or just

Brocade01(config)#mstp admin-edge-port ethernet 1/1/5 to 1/1/6

There are no vlans configured on the firewall and ESXi and both are on the same subnet . Can anyone help me understand what needs to be done.

Presently the above command is not configured and when i connect the firewall and esxi server, the server is not accessible.
