What limitations exist, if any, in mixing different types of line card in an MLXe?
My current build is:
M1 (left ):BR-MLX-MR2-M Management Module Active
M2 (right):BR-MLX-MR2-M Management Module Standby(Ready State)
F1: NI-X-HSF Switch Fabric Module Active
F2: NI-X-HSF Switch Fabric Module Active
S1: BR-MLX-1GFx24-X 24-port 1GbE SFP Module CARD_STATE_UP
S2: BR-MLX-1GFx24-X 24-port 1GbE SFP Module CARD_STATE_UP
S3: BR-MLX-1GCx24-X 24-port 10/100/1000Base-T Copper Module CARD_STATE_UP
I need to add 10g capability and want to use SFP+ hardware, not XFP.
The existing line cards are all, as I understand it, Gen 1.1. The two 8-port 10G SFP+ cards available are both Gen 2. Am I OK to simply add them to the above specification and mix the two generations of line card? Are there any limitations (e.g. throughput?) from mixing them?
Similarly, the existing cards are -X modules (1 million routes). There are both -M and -X versions of the 10Gx8. Can I use either? (I don't actually need to support as many as 1M routes...) On a similar note I spot that -ML cards are available (license upgradable to 1M routes). Can these all be mixed with each other, without difficulties or caveats?
