Big Data, as a topic, is climbing up the list of things to focus on for businesses in many areas. Real-time analytics are becoming increasingly important for businesses everywhere, and with the proliferation of mobile devices, Big Data is rapidly becoming a reality. Gartner and Verizon both recognize it, and others agree that Big Data is "for real."
Big Data certainly has a wide range of potential uses, such as for the health care industry and for call centers everywhere. However, many businesses lack the resources in their IT departments to implement a network that can handle Big Data on their own. One potential solution is to see what the for their Big Data needs. In the near future, businesses may allocate their cloud spending with Big Data in mind.
As a service provider, is Big Data on your focus list? Do you believe creating a network that can transport and store Big Data is a priority or something that's of less import?
