VRRP-E Configuration Correct?

Hi All,

I'm trying to get VRRP-E working on 2 SX's that we have.

Here is the following configuration that I have

SX1 - Primary:

interface ve 10

ip address 10.99.0.4 255.255.255.0

ip vrrp-extended vrid 10

  backup priority 110 track-priority 20

track-port e 1/2

Additional Info:

e 1/1 - Goes to Primary Router for Internet Connectivity

e 1/2 - Goes to Backup Router for Internet Connectivity

e 1/3 - VRRP-E Physical CAT6 Connection between the 2 SX's (spanning-tree 802-1w admin-pt2pt-mac set on the interface)

Spanning tree is enabled on all of these VLANs (512 for SX1 and 1024 for SX2).

My questions are as follows:

1. Does this configuration work?

2. Is the 1/3 physical link between the two SX's needed for VRRP-E communication needed? I've seen diagrams where there is a link, and others where there isn't.

2a. If there needs to be a physical link between the two SX's for VRRP-E communication, I would assume that the port would be tagged and a member of all VLANs, correct?

3. If we have a primary and backup router that is connected to each of the SX's for internet connectivity (e 1/1 and e1/2), I dont believe there is a need for track-ports and track-priority since they primary/backup routers that these SX's are connected to share a VIP. Is this correct?
