Stacking ICX 6450 with 1G SFP

We are replacing a 6450 stack and don't have any of the spare 10G copper stacking cables so I was planning to use some spare Fiber cables around to configure the stack temp.

I only have 1G SFP modules and hard coding the speed-duplex won't let me enable stacking because the interface has configuration.

Does it only accept 10G SFP+ to stack with fiber??

This is from the manual but wanted to verify that 1G SFP wouldn't work or if I am missing something.

Use copper stacking cables or SFP+ fiber optic cables to connect ICX 6450 devices or ICX 6430
devices in a traditional stack.

Re: Stacking ICX 6450 with 1G SFP

It is best practices to stack your 6450s with 10G twinax.

The cost of fiber transceives is far higher than the proper twinax cables.

I understand that, but when you have a bunch of 1GB fiber transceivers laying around and only needed for initial configuration it would make sense to at least be able to use them if needed.

Re: Stacking ICX 6450 with 1G SFP

Understood, however we only support stacking with 10G modules in the 6450.

I've attached the current stacking guide for reference, page 18 details the stacking connectivity options.
