STP issue in specific VLANs

In our company we have almost 5-10 switches running at core Layer model is FLS 624 or FLS 648. Each running STP and STP is creating issues from last few days we can't find loop in our network but due stp it blocks ports in specific vlans lets say VLan ID 19 and 77.

How can I find the issue and troubleshoot please help.

Re: STP issue in specific VLANs

start with an updated topology map with interfaces correctly identified and all links accounted for.

use " sh span details " to verify port state  ( for RSTP, use "show 802.1w details )

use syslog message to check alerts and stp events and coordinate with tasks in narrowing down the fault domain in your stp network.

TAC has more debugging commands at their deposal to check hw state vs sw state - if you need help located the stp/rstp issue.

Re: STP issue in specific VLANs

The cli command "show span detail" show NOT cause a system reset.

The switch probably ran into some past known issue and old defect.

FLS 648 is a legacy system which has been EoS and EoL for quite sometime, though lots of them are still running 7.2x and/or older software.

What version were you running on this box ?

Will be good to provide the stack dump to search for the defect on KB.

It will be good to load the latest version of 7.2.02k from MyBrocade so you have the latest support software and all the patched fixes.
