Need FC and FCoE supported switch.

Hi,

I have Hitachi AMS 2100 and HUS 110 storage. Both are FC Storages. I need one switch which supports FC as well as FCOE. Switch should have ability to take FC input from any one storage and convert it into FCOE. I have CNA (FCOE) card which I can use for server.

Thanks

Re: Need FC and FCoE supported switch.

Hi,

   Not sure what you are asking for here.  Are you asking what Brocade switch you can purchase that supports native FC and FCoE?

if so then you are looking at the VDX range - like this one Brocade VDX 6730 Switch

Thanks

Re: Need FC and FCoE supported switch.

Hi

Thanks for reply.

I have Hitachi AMS 2100 storage which supports FC protocol and I have HP server where have CNA (FCoE) card. So I want switch which supports both FC and FCoE protocol.

So, that my storage-server connectivity will complete with FCoE protocol.

Switch should ability to connect FC storage and FCoE card.

Thanks

Hi Bhanu,

    In that case the Brocade VDX 6730 Switch which has both native FC ports to connect to the Hitachi storage and FCoE ports will do the job.

VDX 6730-24 (a 16,32 or 76  port version is also available)

This switch has for FC;

Eight 8 Gbps ports
Port types supported: E_Port (connecting to EX_Port only), F_Port and N_Port (Access Gateway mode)

For FCoE (or ethernet) has;

24 ports of 1/10G

Thanks

Re: Need FC and FCoE supported switch.

make sure you're running NOS 4.x if you want to connect FC devices. On NOS 2 and 3 only E-port ot EX port connections were supported.
