Module Mismatch?

I have an ICX6450-24-HPOE connected to an ICX6430-24-HPOE via fiber.  On the 6450 I am using port 1/2/1 and on the 6430 I am using port 1/2/1.

When I issue a show ver command on both switches is looks like I have a mismatch.  The 6450 shows:

UNIT 1: SL 2: ICX6450-SFP-Plus 4port 40G Module

While the 6430 shows:

UNIT 1: SL 2: ICX6430-SFP 4port 4G Module

I am positive I ordered the same modules for both switches so did I mess up on the order, am I just plugged into the wrong SFP port on the 6450 or is it something else?

Hi,

UNIT 1: SL 2: ICX6450-SFP-Plus 4port 40G Module

This means it's including 4 x 10G SFPP ports

UNIT 1: SL 2: ICX6430-SFP 4port 4G Module

This means it's including 4 x 1G SFP ports

It's all right here...

But dont forget; only two ports (ethernet 1/1/1 and 1/1/3) are at 10Gbps speed at Brocade 6450.

if you did not order POD license for 6450, ethernet 1/1/2 and 1/1/4 ports will run at 1Gbps speed.

Re: Module Mismatch?

Thanks Destan.  It looks like i need to move the the 6450 gbic from 1/2/1 to 1/2/2 in order for both sides to run at 1G speed.

Re: Module Mismatch?

Hi khutch,

Also you can use ethernet 1/1/1 and 1/1/3 at 1G speed. Just enter these commands:

Brocade(config)#int ethernet 1/2/1 ethernet 1/2/3

Brocade(config-mif-1/2/1,1/2/3)#speed-duplex 1000-full
