Hello,

I believe by "trunk" you mean multiple ports between the two switches.

These are the steps required to configure a LAG, aka trunk, an the ICX 7250

1) Creating a Link Aggregation Group (either static or dynamic)

Example:

device(config)# lag blue static

device(config-lag-blue)#

You may either specify an ID or let the system pick one.

2) Adding Ports to a LAG:

Example

device(config)# lag blue static

device(config-lag-blue)# ports ethernet 1/3/1 ethernet 1/3/2

3) Configuring the Primary Port for a LAG

Example

device(config)# lag blue static

device(config-lag-blue)# primary-port 1/3/2

Should you opt in for a Dynamic LAG, it is recommended to use long LACP timeout. otherwise the Trunk may not form with the 6500.

device(config)# lag blue dynamic

device(config-lag-blue)# lacp-timeout long

Make sure not to pass Vlan 1 over the trunk as vlan 1 behave differently on the two platforms.

The link below should assist with the Config on the 6500

Hope this helps addressing your concerns, and let us know how you get on.

Regards,

Os
