Get interface MAC address via SNMP?

I've tried to scour the net to get the answer to this but to no avail.

I know that the MAC address of the devices connected to the interfaces can be retrieved in CLI via the command 'show mac-address'.

But, let's say that I don't have access to the CLI. Is it possible to get the same info using SNMP query?

I've tried various MiBs, but couldn't find any that actually does this. Super appreciate if anyone can shed some light on this. The switch that I'm targetting is NetIron MLX.

Re: Get interface MAC address via SNMP?

That's regular MIB II stuff.

http://oreilly.com/catalog/esnmp/chapter/ch02.html

http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc1213

You can walk the MIB tree below 1.3.6.1.2.1.2 to get a list of interfaces and their identifiers, then the physical address would typically be something like 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.6.<ifNumber> = Hex-STRING: <MAC address>

Is that what you're looking for?

Re: Get interface MAC address via SNMP?

From what I know, ifPhysAddress MiB will give the interface's MAC address. I need to find out the MAC address of the routers connected to the interfaces.
