Does boot monitor image need to match for part of stack switch

[ Edited ]

Hi Everyone,

I am adding 6610 switch to stack of 2.

I downgraded layer 2 image of new 6610 same as stack of 2 6610.

New switch when i do sh flash it shows different boot image.

sh flash
Stack unit 1:
  Compressed Pri Code size = 5325231, Version 07.3.00cT7f1 (/foundry/FGS/os/FCXS07300c.bin)
  Compressed Sec Code size = 6811631, Version 07.3.00cT7f3 (/foundry/FGS/os/FCXR07300c.bin)
  Compressed Boot-Monitor Image size = 370555, Version 07.3.02T7f5
Code Flash Free Space = 52822016
Stack unit 2:
  Compressed Pri Code size = 5325231, Version:07.3.00cT7f1 (/foundry/FGS/os/FCXS07300c.bin)
  Compressed Sec Code size = 6811631, Version:07.3.00cT7f3 (/foundry/FGS/os/FCXR07300c.bin)
  Compressed Boot-Monitor Image size = 370555, Version:07.3.02T7f5

New switch shows Boot -Monitor image as Version 10.1.00T7f5

Need to know to part of stack the new switch should also have same boot image as existing stack switch?

Also on new switch i assign it management IP to download the image should i remove the IP from new switch before i add it to stack?

Regards

Re: Does boot monitor image need to match for part of stack switch

According to this section of the stacking guide, the boot images need to match. You may want to update the older versions.

Maybe this page can help with adding the unit to the stack.

Hope that helps!
