Hi,

Not sure what models you are looking at, so here is a bit of a breakdown.

Edge Layer 3 EDGEPREM software upgrade for the FWS6xxG and FWS6xxG-POE. EDGEPREM includes IPv4 routing protocols RIPv1/v2 and OSPF.

Advanced Software LICENSE FOR FCX. License adds BGP - RIP and OSPF are included in base

Edge Layer 3 software upgrade for the FGS6XX  PoE and non-PoE models, FGS6XXXGP PoE and non-PoE models and  the FLS6XX. Edge Layer 3 includes IPv4 routing protocols RIPv1/v2 and OSPF.

Full L3 IPv4 IronWare software upgrade for the FESX6xx and the FESX6xxHF. This software upgrade adds support for Full Layer 3 IPv4 routing protocols including RIPv1/v2, OSPF, BGP4, and multicast routing, including PIM-SM, PIM-DM, and DVMRP.

FastIron SuperX/SX modular series, premium IPv4 routing image, IPv4-only and universal module support, EPROM-based licensing adds

RIPv1/v2, OSPF, BGP4, and multicast routing, including PIM-SM, PIM-DM, and DVMRP

Base Layer 3 is normaly static routes, ISR and VRRP

Note VRRP-E needs the edge/full for the product.

Thanks

Michael.
