CER 2000 upgrade to 5.5 issue

Hi all,

I'm new to Brocade and not sure if this is appropriate for the discussion forum or better as a support case; so apologies in advance.

I have tried to follow the instructions to upgrade to IronWare 5.5 on my CER-RT 2024F unit. The upload of the Application software completes correctly, and the show flash command happily displays the 5.5 version information for the application section. However when trying to then upgrade the fpga-pbif to the 5.5 version, I get the following error:

copy tftp fpga-pbif <---TFTPServerIP---> pbifmetro_05500c.bin

...........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................TFTP: Download FPGA-PBIF to memory done.

!!> Error: pbif_size_check(), size (0x004E8925) is outside the limits: 0x

Because the upgrade advice instructs to upgrade the application and fpga-pbif before rebooting i'm not sure whether to reboot and retry or what to do. Has anyone encountered this or have any general advice for this scenario?

Thank you all in advance!

Eric

Re: CER 2000 upgrade to 5.5 issue

Well, with 0 replies I have contacted support and got some feedback on this. Have posted it here in case it helps someone else.

I was advised this is a defect (defect 000446080), but that the above error when loading the FPGA update can be safely ignored.

Sure enough, I have rebooted and all works as expected. Yay.

Re: CER 2000 upgrade to 5.5 issue

Thank you, if you did not come back to give a feed back, i probably have called to brocade support before reload, after update i have the same message, but after reload the system is going fine.

One more time, THX
