VDX6740

Hello everyone,

We just recently bought the VDX6740.  Is there a command to change the QSFP+ port from 1x40G to 4x10G?  I've been looking for a document from Brocade but I've not found anything yet.  Thank you in advance.

Re: VDX6740

Please use "sfp breakout" command.

Re: VDX6740

I am jumping into the deep end a bit here, but this is my first 6740T and also first time using a Fabric OS based switch, where/how did you use the command "sfp breakout" to utilize a 1x40 to 4x10 cable? Also did you have to have the QSFP+ module installed to configure it?

Re: VDX6740

You configure it with the hardware command, like below. On a 6740 the 40G ports are 49-52, you can set it per port as well if needed instead of for the whole range.

VDX6740-101# conf t
VDX6740-101(config)# hardware
VDX6740-101(config-hardware)# connector 101/0/49-52
VDX6740-101(config-connector-101/0/49-52)# sfp breakout

Re: VDX6740

I don't think you need the optic installed to use this command.
