I have been having quite some trouble getting the VDX 6740 to send VLAN traffic through the trunk that has been setup to our lab edge Cisco Nexus switch. I have been doing numerous web searches and config changes with no luck. Below is my current OS level and the current switch configuration:
Network Operating System Software Network Operating System Version: 5.0.1 Copyright (c) 1995-2014 Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. Firmware name: 5.0.1d Build Time: 17:53:30 Jun 12, 2015 Install Time: 13:00:17 Mar 29, 2016 Kernel: 18.104.22.168 BootProm: 1.0.1 Control Processor: e500mc with 4096 MB of memory Slot Name Primary/Secondary Versions Status --------------------------------------------------------------------------- SW/0 NOS 5.0.1d ACTIVE* 5.0.1d Brocade VDX 7640 settings: sw0(conf-if-te-1/0/1)# do sh run int te 1/0/1 interface TenGigabitEthernet 1/0/1 description NEXUS5020Connection no fabric isl enable no fabric trunk enable switchport switchport mode trunk switchport trunk allowed vlan all no switchport trunk tag native-vlan spanning-tree shutdown no shutdown ! sw0(conf-if-te-1/0/1)# do sh vlan br Total Number of VLANs configured : 6 Total Number of VLANs provisioned : 6 Total Number of VLANs unprovisioned : 0 VLAN Name State Ports Classification (F)-FCoE (u)-Untagged (R)-RSPAN (c)-Converged (T)-TRANSPARENT (t)-Tagged ================ =============== ========================== =============== ==================== 1 default ACTIVE Te 1/0/1(t) Te 1/0/11(u) 130 VLAN0130 ACTIVE Te 1/0/1(t) 131 VLAN0131 ACTIVE Te 1/0/1(t) 132 VLAN0132 ACTIVE Te 1/0/10(u) Te 1/0/8(u) Te 1/0/9(u) Te 1/0/6(u) Te 1/0/7(u) Te 1/0/4(u) Te 1/0/1(t) Te 1/0/3(u) Te 1/0/5(u) 133 VLAN0133 ACTIVE Te 1/0/1(t) 1002(F) VLAN1002 INACTIVE(no member port) Cisco Nexus settings: interface Ethernet1/40 description "BROCADEVDX6740-HNAS" switchport mode trunk switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,130-133
I have also tried testing the te 1/0/1 port with the default port-profile, but this also did not work. One of our other lab techs thinks the issue may be with the tagging of VLAN 1, which we have set to "no" under the port, but when doing a "sh vlan br" it looks like it still may be tagged. Neither of us has much experience with the VDX line of switches, so I'm hoping we are just missing a simple setting to get this to work.
I am able to confirm that nodes connected directly to the switch can communicate, so it seems the issue is definitely with the trunk not passing VLAN traffic. I would greatly appreciate any assistance or suggestions, as this has been quite a headache :)
Please let me know if any further info is needed or if an OS upgrade may help with this.

Since the devices are from two different vendors, try adding the following to CISCO Nexus configuration:
Cisco Nexus settings: interface Ethernet1/40 description "BROCADEVDX6740-HNAS" switchport mode trunk switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,130-133 switchport nonegotiate
