Standand alone or VCS enabled

[ Edited ]

Hi experts,

I already have 10 vdx switches in a logical chassis. I am replacing a cisco core with VDX 8770. I  want VDX 8770 as standalone and not part of the existing logical chassis. My question is, should I enable VCS  on this stand alone swtich?

Thanks,

Re: Standand alone or VCS enabled

Hello Iama,

Since the VDX is a standalone switch, you don't have to enable VCS on it. Just bear in mind should this change in the future and the switch ended up in a fabric, enabling VCS will wipe the configuration on it.

Kind Regards,

Os
