Sfp Current TX RX power is below low boundary. Current value is 0 uW mA

Hello,

In the show logging raslog and in the Master Log of BNA, now and then there are entries like this:

2013/08/12-00:02:35, , 78695,, WARNING, switchname, Sfp RX power for port 31/0/49, is below low boundary(High=1000, Low=32). Current value is 0 uW.

2013/08/12-00:02:35, , 78696,, WARNING, switchname, Sfp TX power for port 31/0/49, is below low boundary(High=794, Low=251). Current value is 0 uW.

2013/08/12-00:02:35, , 78697,, WARNING, switchname, Sfp Current for port 31/0/49, is below low boundary(High=11, Low=4). Current value is 0 mA.

So message ID are

FW-1038

FW-1042

FW-1046

They look like false messages.

The following defects are related:

Defect ID: 000432495 http://kb.brocade.com/ed/45/DEFECT_000432495.html

Defect ID: 000456799 http://kb.brocade.com/ed/49/DEFECT_000456799.html

The solution to disable monitoring is simply unacceptable.

Brocade asked to install a debug firmware, but this is not possible at the moment.

It's happening at different time of the day, on different switches and on different ports but all 10 Gb ethernet.

NOS is 3.0.1aa

Switches are VDX 6730 and VDX 6710

Does anybody else have encounter this issue?

Does anybody have a solution?

Thank you!

Re: Sfp Current TX RX power is below low boundary. Current value is 0 uW mA

Hi,

we have the same issue - occured now three times. This is more like a monitoring failure or a cosmetic bug. Currently we're running a 3.0.1b and we have the bug also i think...

This is indeed a pure cosmetic issue with no impact on functionality . I know its a pain but you would simply have to ignore these messages until a fix is available . What i am hearing is that the next NOS release will have the fix for this issue .

If anything changes i will update the thread .

Hi,

Is this issue has been solved?

We got exactly same messages in v4.0.0b on VDX 6740.

Thanks
