ISL Link CRC Errors

We have had a situation where one of the 4 * 10GE  ISL links between 2 Data Centres has experienced massive  RX errors (CRC)

Due the cut through nature of the ISL ports , these errors are redistributed throughout the Fabirc along the destination path.

Due to the per packet load sharing of the ISL Trunk, every 4th  packet was 'errored' casuing all sorts of issues with L3 protocols.

Is there a way to automatically 'SHUTDOWN' aone of these ports based on teh error count?

Re: ISL Link CRC Errors

Hi,

Unfortunately I am not aware of any features that will shutdown ISL port based on error threshold.

Regards

Mick
