BNA shows HP FCoE10-24 blade ports at "No FCoE base License" ?

Hi Folks,

We have both 2408 (Brocade 8000) and DCX switches running in our lab.

I added FCoE 10-24 blades to 2 DCX’s running 6.4.1 FOS and BNA FCoE configuration
shows “No FCoE Base License” in MAC address column (screenshot attached).

“Licenseshow” shows “FCoE Base License” on 2408 switches, but not on DCX switches.

Everything I read and see says no added license is needed for FCoE 10-24 blade.

Is this correct..? Do I need an FCoE license for DCX switches or is there an option I have

not enabled? I’m having issues getting FCoE devices logged into FCoE 10-24 blade.

No mention in HP quickspecs on license: http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12993_div/12993_div.html

Thanks for any pointers/help!

Re: BNA shows HP FCoE10-24 blade ports at "No FCoE base License" ?

Hi Again,

One other observation.

When I power off/on the FCoE blade as it goes though initialization, the MAC addrees field in FCoE BNA display

shows the MAC addreses. As initialization completes, then the "No FCoE Base License" shows up in the MAC address column.

BNA screenshot attached as it is displayed before completion. It seems like some sort of license check disables it.

Text below is blade status during when the MAC address field is displayed correctly in BNA FCoE GUI with real address.

DCX-FabA-SW36:admin> slotshow -m

Slot   Blade Type     ID    Model Name     Status
--------------------------------------------------
  1     SW BLADE     55     FC8-32         ENABLED
  2     SW BLADE     55     FC8-32         ENABLED
  3     SW BLADE     55     FC8-32         ENABLED
  4     UNKNOWN                            VACANT
  5     CORE BLADE   52     CORE8          ENABLED
  6     CP BLADE     50     CP8            ENABLED
  7     CP BLADE     50     CP8            ENABLED
  8     CORE BLADE   52     CORE8          ENABLED
  9     SW BLADE     55     FC8-32         ENABLED
10     SW BLADE     55     FC8-32         ENABLED
11     AP BLADE     74     FCOE10-24      INITIALIZING
12     AP BLADE     24     FR4-18i        INSERTED, NOT POWERED ON
