ServerIron XL running in L3 mode with source-nat - which is IP address is getting used for source-nat?

The ServerIron XL is pretty old but I thought I should give it a run. I need to configure a SI XL in Layer 3 mode (with VEs) and I need source-nat in the end customers environment. I am not going to configure any source-ip's or sourcen-nat-ip's. Which IP address is getting used for source-nat in this case? Is it the systems IP or the VE IP address?

Thanks for your feedback. Have a great weekend.

Re: ServerIron XL running in L3 mode with source-nat - which is IP address is getting used for source-nat?

I guess you are talking about a configuration including something like:

interface ve 1

ip address 192.168.7.1 255.255.255.0

interface ve 8

ip address 192.168.8.1 255.255.255.0

The real servers are behind one of the VEs and source-nat is enabled globally. Correct?

The ServerIron XL is going to use the VE address (like 192.168.8.1) for source-nat and not the global address configured via ip addr <ip-address> <subnet-mask> at the global level.
