Is it possible to integrate 3rd party sites into GSLB setups based on ServerIrons?

Is it possible to integrate 3rd party sites into GSLB setups based on ServerIrons? I do have two sites (of three) which are not equipped with ServerIrons so far. Is it possible to do GSLB in such a environment? Site #1 is the controller site and the one running with ServerIrons already.

Re: Is it possible to integrate 3rd party sites into GSLB setups based on ServerIrons?

This is possible. You are able to set GSLB up using a ServerIron controller which might be site ServerIron at the same time and non-ServerIron load balancers/ADCs at the other sites. It is even possible to integrate "normal" servers in a GSLB setup.

It is possible but you are loosing some functionality. A global setup based on ServerIrons only is going to exchange details in between the controller ServerIron(s) and the site SI(s) using a special GSLB protocol. This is of course not possible in case 3rd party devices are used instead of ServerIrons. The GSLB controller is therefore not able to get the CPU load, sessions statistics and some other stuff from the 3rd party devices.

The GSLB controller is therefore not able to use these details for GSLB decisions.

I hope this is understandable.
