How to: Running State Shows Server Enabled but not Active

I've been trying to configure two real web filtering servers to function behind a virtual IP address on a ServerIron ADX 1000. The virtual IP and one real server work but the second server doesn't work. The second server is functional if I refer to it directly, but it doesn't work behind the VIP. If I disable the working server, nothing works. The running state of one server shows "Active". The running state of the other server (the one that doesn't work) shows "Enabled".

My config is below. Anyone have any thoughts on how to fix my issue?

server port 8080

session-sync

tcp

.....

server real PROXY2 10.A.B.C

port 8080

port 8080 keepalive

!

server real PROXY3 10.X.Y.Z

port 8080

port 8080 keepalive

!

...........

server virtual pxy 10.D.E.F

sticky-age 20

sym-priority 200

predictor least-conn

port 8080 sticky

bind 8080 PROXY2 8080 PROXY3 8080

!

Re: How to: Running State Shows Server Enabled but not Active

After lots of reading, I answered my own question. I hadn't defined and didn't know I needed to define a virtual port for the subnet that the non-working server was on. Once I created that, the server showed "Active".

So my config looks like this:

server real PROXY2 10.A.B.C

port 8080

port 8080 keepalive

!

server real PROXY3 10.X.Y.Z

port 8080

port 8080 keepalive

!

...........

server virtual pxy 10.D.E.F

sticky-age 20

sym-priority 200

predictor least-conn

port 8080 sticky

bind 8080 PROXY2 8080 PROXY3 8080

!

...........

vlan B by port

tagged ethe 1 to 4

router-interface ve B

!

...........

interface ve B

ip address 10.A.B.N 255.255.255.0

!

The "B" in my config refers to the subnet. In my case, the third octet of the IP Addresses of real servers PROXY2 and PROXY3 also happens to be the VLAN number.

Hope this helps someone else.
