For the love of pete!

Howdy,

I am trying to write a simple redirect rule in my ServerIronGT that looks like this:

csw-rule "r10" url prefix "/"

csw-policy "p10"

match "r10" redirect "myurl.com/this/is/an/example.asp" "/"

server virtual vip1

(other commands within this vip omitted)

port ssl csw-policy "p10"

port ssl csw

port http csw-policy "p10"

port http csw

All I want to accomplish is forwarding browsing clients from the url they typed to a another with all the "this/is/an/example.asp" stuff on the end.

After implementing this and analyzing why via wireshark, it looks like the redirect is putting a  /  at the end of the redirected url, which I DON'T want... How do I tell this guy not to put the forward slash @ the end?

Your insightful help would be much appreciated!

Re: For the love of pete!

At last!

I figured out this question but have another... The solution for this was to change the match command in the csw policy to read:

csw-policy "p10"
match "r10" redirect "myurl.com/this/is/an" "/example.asp"

instead of:

csw-policy "p10"
match "r10" redirect "myurl.com/this/is/an/example.asp" "/"

Redirecting now works properly... but what about using rewriting for adding "this/is/an/example.asp" on the end of the url? Here's what I have:

csw-rule "r10" url prefix "/"

csw-policy "p10"

match "r10" forward 10
match "r10" rewrite request-insert "this/is/an/example.asp"

server virtual vip1
(other commands within this vip omitted)
port ssl csw-policy "p10"
port ssl csw

port ssl keep-alive

port http csw-policy "p10"
port http csw

port http keepalive

Any ideas why rewriting isnt working?

Thanks again!
