Can I bind 2 virtual Ports to one real Port?

Hello,

I have a question about Port-bind at ADC 1016.

Here the facts:

real server rsA ip 1.1.1.1

port 80

port 881

real server rsB ip 1.1.1.2

port 80

Port 881

virtual server C ip 1.1.1.3

port 80

port 81

port 82

port 801

port 802

bind 81 rsA 881 = no Problem

bind 82 rsB 881 = no Problem

bind 801 rsA 80 = no Problem

bind 802 rsB 80 = no Problem

and now the Problem:

bind 80 rsA 80 rsB 80

The Customer wish this Solution above but

The Manual says:

One of the requirements is that a real server can be bound to only one virtual server using the
same TCP or UDP application port. As a result, when you bind a real server port to a virtual server
port, you cannot then bind the same real server port to a different virtual server port.

Have any a Idea for this Problem?

A lot of thanks for all Answers.

Re: Can I bind 2 virtual Ports to one real Port?

Use alias ports.

Example:

server real rsA 10.0.0.1

port 80

port 80 keepalive

port 10080

port 10080 keepalive

server real rsB 10.0.0.2

port 80

port 80 keepalive

port 10080

port 10080 keepalive

server virtual vsC 10.0.0.3

port 80

port 81

bind 80 rsA 80 rsB 80

bind 81 rsA 10080 real-port 80 rsB 10080 real-port 80

To get the same keepalive status of master-port (80) on alias-port (10080) use the server port profiles:

server port 80

tcp keepalive 10 2

server port 10080

tcp keepalive use-master-state
