Writing a HTTP Header to another header using rule builder.

Hi all,

I'm trying to use rule builder (we're not licenced for TrafficScript) to copy the input from a single HTTP Header and write it to another HTTP Header name.

I'm not sure how to do this in the RuleBuilder UI though - perhaps there is a way to $ deliminate another HTTP header?

We're on Zeus 7.3r1

Thanks!

Hi phaigh,

You'll need TrafficScript to do that.  The only special variables in RuleBuilder are %REMOTE_IP% and %REMOTE_PORT%.   With the latest 9.0r3 release of Stingray you get TrafficScript with the base 1000 license.  You can download the free developer edition here:

Thanks,

Re: Writing a HTTP Header to another header using rule builder.

Hi Faisal,

Many thanks for the response, very helpful.  Luckily the Client IP is the one that I'm trying to set, so it looks like %REMOTE_IP% is the special variable that I want.

I'll go find the definitions of %REMOTE_IP% in the documentation to ensure that it's what we need.

However, we need to upgrade anyway, and this is just fuel to the upgrade fire..

Many thanks,

Paul
