Use this tab to set fabric wide properties.

The Fabric name is used as headings throughout the report and is a logical name that is given to switch members that are within the fabric container.

 

It is important to specify the Vendor who is supporting your SAN as this information is used if a critical situation is uncovered while the report generators are examining the health characteristics of your SAN. Brocade's many OEM vendors vary in their responses to different critical conditions and we need to ensure that the correct course of action is instigated in the event that a critical problem is detected.  If multiple vendors have supplied the switches, please select the vendor that is the majority supplier.

 

The Performance Capture duration is set on a fabric wide basis. All Brocade B-Series switches will run the diagnostic command set and then issue portPerfShow for the performance capture. The output from portPerfShow will be sampled for the duration specified here.  Performance capture is not available on Brocade M-Series (McData) nor Cisco MDS switches.

 

There is also a button here to test connectivity to all the switches in the specified fabric, and a button to set all the switches in the fabric to the same user name and password.

The performance capture can be set to not capture, or to capture for set durations between 1 minute and 48 hours. Due to the large volume of data that has to be collected over this time period, in order to keep the size of the resulting audit file managable, samples of the data are captured at regular intervals. These are set durations that can be seen here in this table.
