i'm trying to discover my FC switches FOS version 7.X in IBM TPC using SMI-S agent. I've been told to use network advisor with embended SMI-S agent, after installation i'm required with a license to discover the switches which i don't have or want to buy. Am i missing something? the only way to discover your FC switches using SMI-S agent is buying a network advisor license? the sntand alone SMI-S agent version 120.11 already tried and is not working. is there a specific version of network advisor i need to download?

-->>....which i don't have or want to buy.
Professional-Plus and Enterprise, both required a License.
You have TWO Options:
1) Buy a License
2) avoid to use it

So there is no way to run SMI-S discoveries without buying a license for network advisor? i remeber it was available also as "Professional" and it didn't require a licesne, still vailable?

->i'm trying to discover my FC switches FOS version 7.X...
Stand-alone Package of SMI Agent Release v120.11.0 supported only FOS 6.4.x,
FOS 7.0.x or higher is in this Release not supported.

The best way, you should ask you Vendor or OEM, in such case IBM.
1) IBM can open a call by Brocade or ask if any future Stand-Alone Release of SMI is planned or not.
2) Is most probable any such is already available, but is not General Available or for Public download.
And I would more point to "2"

and here a couple of Info, which are reported in FOS Release Notes
7.0.x; 7.1.x and latest new release 7.2.x
SMI Compatibility It is important to note that host SMI-S agents cannot be used to manage switches running FOS v7.0.1 If users want to manage a switch running FOS v7.0.1 using SMI-S interface, they must use Brocade Network Advisor’s integrated SMI agent.

I started the installation from BNA 12.1.1 on my Laptop, and when yoy start at first time you get the Options to select SMI Agent only.
have you tried with ?
