Zone Clean up using DCMF

Question…

I was wondering if someone can validate what I am looking to do, just for my piece of mind.

I am looking to re-name some of the Zones in the Active Zone Configuration using DCFM.

Here are the steps I want to take to accomplish this without causing downtime.

1- Duplicate the Zone

Netapp_20a_6080_nyaqsunzone05

NYAPSAN02_0D

NYAPSAN02_0H

NYAQSUNZONE05

2- Rename the Duplicated Zone with the correct zone name

NYAQSUNZONE05_NETAPP

NYAPSAN02_0D

NYAPSAN02_0H

NYAQSUNZONE05

3- Activate the Duplicated / New Zone (NYAQSUNZONE05_NETAPP)

4- Remove the old zone (Netapp_20a_6080_nyaqsunzone05)

Will this cause a problem?

NO, but (re)consider using the CLI for this job because its faster (in my experience) to use especially in conjunction with the zoneobjectrename command.
