How to configure SNMP traps for DS5000B SAN switch?

Hi,

How to configure Brocade SNMP trap for SAN Switch model DS5000B?

I would like to configure multiple SNMP traps in order to sent to the host with the associated Community string (Private network).

Best Regards,

CS

Hi There,

Do you have any idea why this failed? I've done it over for 10 brocade switches, but this is the only one failed and I can't find where is the log...

Brocade_DS_SW1:admin> snmpconfig --set snmpv1

show to me as a network config error IP Address, etc...., or check now the snmpconfig in this switch.

That's why there is no config in the snmpconfig.... I want to make the change.. but it keep on failed.

Brocade_DS_SW1:admin> snmpconfig --set snmpv1

Re: How to configure SNMP traps for DS5000B SAN switch?

Hi

Can you provide the output of this command from one of your working switch

"snmpconfig --show snmpv1"

I think we are missing some input which is required to configure the snmp and hence this error...I suspect the "Trap port 162" info.

Re: How to configure SNMP traps for DS5000B SAN switch?

Hi,

Here is the redundant switch.. But this switch did not have trap 162 configuration as it did not ask for..

I

Brocade_DS_SW2:admin> snmpconfig --show snmpv1

SNMPv1 community and trap recipient configuration:
  Community 1: Secret C0de (rw)
    No trap recipient configured yet
  Community 2: OrigEquipMfr (rw)
    No trap recipient configured yet
  Community 3: I77V6cBEUEAa (rw)
    Trap recipient: 169.100.20.26
    Trap recipient Severity level: 1
  Community 4: public (ro)
    No trap recipient configured yet
  Community 5: I77V6cBEUEAa (ro)
    Trap recipient: 169.100.20.26
    Trap recipient Severity level: 2
  Community 6: I77V6cBEUEAa (ro)
    Trap recipient: 1168.167.25.135
    Trap recipient Severity level: 3

Thanks.
