BNA 12.1.5 Authentication failure with FC5022 (Pureflex) switches

During fabric discovery I have several FC5022 (PureFlex) switches that fail to authenticate with the following: "SNMP communication failed. SNMP credential maybe invalid. Not regestered for SNMP traps" Please explain what needs to be done.

Login to your FC5022 switches.

Run the command:

snmpconfig --set snmpv3

dmwallac,

accordly Release Notes, the FC5022 is not Supported in GA BNA, but should be supported by IBM Specific BNA.

Additional you must use specific FOS Release Package in order to discover FC5022 in BNA.

Re: BNA 12.1.5 Authentication failure with FC5022 (Pureflex) switches

Hi,

In addition to SNMP credentials check, the switch user/password provided during discovery. Additionally, since you're having problems discovering a switch, try to discover it via snmv1 to see if you have the same issue. Then try to configure a snmpv3 user without using SNMP informs to see if the switch can be discovered... once you've been able to discover the switch, you can start adding restrictions and security (like auth and Priv).
