Will my 48000B support 8gbps?

Hello,

my ficon directors are type42.2 (from switchshow) which i believe makes them 48000B series, and were manufactured mid 2008.

Is there any easy way to check whether the blades i've got will support 8gbps?

Switchshow gives the following:-

SW blade

Factory Part Num:       60-0200447-03

CP blade

Factory Part Num:       60-0201837-06

I have not been able to find the specs for these blades by part number; is there a better display to use?.

I can't set the portspeed to 8gbps, but wonder if i would need a seperate license for 8gbps?

I'm expecting that these switches wont support it, but it would be good to have a definitive answer.

Thanks

Brocade 48000 support FC8-16, FC8-32 and FC8-48 Blade.

Speed can be set as 8G, however 8G Traffic remain only betwen the same blade.

No License is required.

see slot show output below and screen-show

Re: Will my 48000B support 8gbps?

Thank you!

a slotshow gives:-

Slot   Blade Type     ID    Status

-----------------------------------

  1     SW BLADE     18     ENABLED

  2     SW BLADE     18     ENABLED

  3     UNKNOWN             VACANT

  4     UNKNOWN             VACANT

  5     CP BLADE     16     ENABLED

  6     CP BLADE     16     ENABLED

  7     UNKNOWN             VACANT

  8     UNKNOWN             VACANT

  9     UNKNOWN             VACANT

10     UNKNOWN             VACANT

And ID 18 resolves to

18 FC4-32 port blade

So as i expected, that's a no to 8Gbps with my current setup.

Cheers
