DETAILED DESCRIPTION

This script has two parts. First part runs on the switch and the second part runs on a host which can connect the switch.

I wrote the first script at a solaris host and then i put it to the /tmp of switch by ftp. First part runs commands like "version", "uptime", "tempshow","fanshow" and redirects the outputs to a file at /tmp of switch. And then it puts this file to a remote host by ftp.

The second part runs on the remote host. It connects the switch by telnet as root and runs the first script. And then exits the switch. Finally it emails the file which is created and put to the remote host by the first script.

REQUIREMENTS

Operating System Solaris

Interface Switch CLI, Telnet

Fabric Operating System Fabric OS: v4.2.0b

Other Root password of the switch

NOTES (INCLUDING LIMITATIONS)

People should be careful with the root password of the switch. It is generally used for emergency cases.
