segmented VC PID map incompat, where should we start looking for incompatabilities?

We have two DCX 8510 switches, connected by long distance 10 Gb lasers across a DWDM.  We get connectivity, but the port shows segmented, and the only explaination is VC PID incompat.

 

Both ports are configured identically, the switches have different domains:

switch 1

PID format set to 1 on both switches.  What is missing?

Hi,

 

Never seen that error but can you post the output of "portcfgshow 12/47" on each switch so that we can check the current config?

 

You can try to manually configure the port as LS instead of LD. Also yo can change the VC Link Init parameter (maybe your dwdm array has some special config requirements..)

Hi,

 

try disabling VC LINK INIT on both ends to see if something changes.

 

If the result is the same one, enable ISL R_RDY mode on the two end. Since this parameter disables the use of VCs, I expect that isolation event to disappear...

 

If any of the above work, I would contact the DWDM array vendor in order to specify if the equipment needs any special config.
