fcip in 7500

Hi

In book "Fabric OS FCIP Administrator’s Guide"

7500 switch

tunnel   V port
ge0

0     16
1     17
2     18
3     19
4     20
5     21
6     22
7     23

ge1

0     24
1     25
2     26
3     27
4     28
5     29
6     30
7     31

It means :

I create  random tunnel NO.(such as 5) ,and correspond to V port(such as 21).

All the FC port from 0 to 7 can be access at the remote 7500 router ?

FC port not be bundle with tunnel NO.or V port ??

fcip in 7800 is different , could you introduce it ?

Thanks .

sky,

--->>>I create  random tunnel NO.(such as 5) ,and correspond to V port(such as 21).

here a table to corresponding Port.

   ge0        ge1
Port #  Tunnel    Port #   Tunnel

16        0         24       0
17        1         25       1
18        2         26       2
19        3         27       3
20        4         28       4
21        5         29       5
22        6         30       6
23        7         31       7

But I do not understand your other question, and the 7800 is a slightly different switch.

Do you mean Tunnel / ISL / from 7500 to 7800 ?

FCIP functionality beetwen 7500 and 7800 are identically, the only one difference is 7500 have 2 FCIP Port, the 7800 8 FCIP Port/Tunnel.

Both 7500 and 7800 FCIP Port work as VE_Port.
