one way to find out is to do a switchshow and take a look at the third byte of the PID. If second byte of both ports are the same and the third byte on one of the port has a value of 80 and the other should be 00 then they are shared.
example of 2 shared areas on a FC8-48 in slot 1: 018000 (port 16) and 018080 (port 40)

you could also download the Nutshell from Brocade website. there should be a table that has the layout of the port index.
