Webtools Java Errors

Hi

I have a brocade 5100 using IE 8 and Firefox 18. The FOS on the switch is V7.01c and I'm using Java 7 update 25. Every time I try to access Webtools on the switch I get the following Java errors

java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 504 for URL: http://10.x.xx.xx/wt-app.jar

com.sun.deploy.net.FailedDownloadException: Unable to load resource: http://10.x.xx.xx/wt-app.jar

    at com.sun.deploy.net.DownloadEngine.downloadResource(Unknown Source)

    at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor.runWorker(Unknown Source)

    at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run(Unknown Source)

    at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)

I have tried deleting the java version on my machine and installed other versions including jre-6u18. I only have one copy of Java running on my desktop at anyone time.

There is no proxy between the desktop and the switch

I have tried using jre-6u18 on another desktop running exactly the same version of IE and this desktop works perfectly ok with webtools. This proves that the http services on the switch are working correctly.

So what could be wrong with my desktop configuration.

Re: Webtools Java Errors

You had mentioned running "on another desktop".  Can you share what OS this was tested on as well as the original OS?

Re: Webtools Java Errors

Hmmm... The easiest and quickest solution would be to re-image the machine.  But if that is not an option, about the best I could suggest as this will probably be a problem with Either Windows or a component of Windows, would be to review the Windows event viewer and look for any potential glaring issues.

If you to Start > Run and type: eventvwr.exe (for WinXP it might be eventvwr.msc) then hit enter.  This will take you directly there.  You should then review each category and look for something that throwing errors.
