Is the host's os HP_UX.? if so, you should enable the heteregenous os support for the storage adapter tha you zoned the host. İf there are hosts which have different OS zoned the storage adapter, you should do so.and then you should run ioscan again on the host.

Thanks for the suggestion, however, in this case it is an EMC Clariion array so the symmask command is not appropriate.Yes, the server is running HP-UX. When adding previous servers I have run the ioscan command after adding the zone to the zoning configuration and the server has discovered the hardware path to the Clariion. But this time it can't see anything.

If it did work, you'd run the risk of the new server seeing the current server's data. I would try and spoof WWN on the new host and then you won't have a problem. Even using port level zoning won't help here, because your Clariion will still see both HBAs.Can you post the name server output for both of these HBAs?
